Baby Morrison Update

I am now 33 weeks pregnant with Waverly's little sister. I was diagnosed in December with polyhydramnios, which is extra amniotic fluid. I have been measuring ahead because of the extra fluid and have to have an ultrasound and be hooked up to the fetal monitor weekly to monitor the baby and myself. So far, so good! The baby is great....going to be pretty big and I am doing fine. I am just uncomfortable with this big belly full of baby and fluid. Unless I go into labor on my own, my c-section is scheduled for April 20th. Waverly is so excited about her baby sister and she is going to be such a big help! :)

Finally!!

I have not been doing a very good job of keeping my blog updated, but with the help of my new blogger app on my iPad I can do better.

Waverly is now 2 1/2, as she likes to say, and is growing like a weed. She has been potty-trained for over 6 months and is even sleeping in her big girl panties at night! I am so proud of her and I can only hope that the new baby will be just as easy. Waverly just finished up her 3rd year of swimming lessons at the aquatic center and her instructor said she is beyond ready for the 3-5 year old class. We are going to do that this summer.

Our second daughter, Evelyn Turner Morrison, should arrive in a little over 6 weeks. Evelyn was my maternal grandmother's name and she loved Waverly so much. I know that she would be thrilled to know that she has a great granddaughter named after her. Stuart decided on Turner, which is the name of the waterway where we keep our boat. Our boat is kept at Hogans' Marina on Turner's Creek. If we ever move back to North Carolina, Turner's name will always make us remember our time in Savannah. We are going to call her Turner and can't wait for her to arrive. Waverly is so ecstatic about becoming a big sister and I think she is going to be a huge help!

I promise to update very soon. I know i have said that in the past, but since I do everything on my iPad it will be much easier now.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Elizabeth City with our family. Waverly had the best time playing with her cousins and that made Stuart and I so happy. It makes the time we spend with our family very precious, but it also makes us wish we could so our family more often.  We can't wait to go home for Christmas to see everyone again.

Packing...uh!

Waverly and I are finishing up our packing before we head home to Elizabeth City tomorrow. Packing for a toddler, and with a toddler is not very easy. Waverly wants to be in the suitcase, take things out, or place random things in her suitcase. We will be getting up at the crack of dawn to head out. We try to leave as early as possible so Waverly can sleep for a few hours in the car and not be confined to her car seat and awake the whole 7 1/2 hour trip. This is also the first trip we are taking with our potty trained, big girl!! We have her little potty in the back of the car, ready to go if we need to make any pit stops on the side of the road. We haven't been home since June and we are so excited for everyone to see how much Waverly has grown. Stuart always says that Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday because everyone just gets to be together and not have to stress about gifts. I have to agree with him! I hope everyone has safe travels and a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Baby Morrison #2

Stuart, Waverly, & I are so excited that we are going to be adding to the Morrison Family in April. Baby Morrison #2 is due April 27, 2012! After trying for quite some time to have Waverly & after the help of fertility drugs we finally got pregnant. Well, Baby #2 was a different story! We were not even trying, had not thought of having another child, but God obviously had a plan for us. I started feeling "different" at the end of August and after a visit to my doctor realized I was pregnant with our sweet little baby. Stuart & I were in a little bit of shock that it could happen without help from Dr. Smith, my ob/gyn. I will be 17 weeks on Thursday and can't wait to meet our baby girl or boy. We do not care if we have another girl or have a boy, our most important thought is that he/she is healthy and perfect. I am going to try and do a better job of keeping everyone updated. :)

Mommy is a slacker!!!

Well, it has been about 3 months since my last post!! I know, I am such a slacker. Ha ha! I am just busy teaching 42- 5th graders, raising a daughter, taking care of my husband, keeping a clean house, blah, blah, blah!! I know I have made promises in the past about keeping Waverly's blog updated, but with summer break quickly approaching (insert screams of excitement here) I should have more time.

Waverly has blossomed into a social butterfly, not that she was ever a shy baby! She talks to everyone, everywhere, and in complete sentences. She fascinates Stuart and I numerous times a day. Not only can you carry on conversations with her, give her multiple-step directions that she can easily follow, but she is still the sweetest, most loving, little cuddle bug EVER!!!!! Everyday feels like Christmas morning to me that I get to wake up to my beautiful daughter, my loving husband, our sweet lab Banks, and the wonderful life that we have created as a family. I am so fortunate to have the wonderful things that I do!

More updates to come......
